The new version of our log management solution labeled 3.11 is an important evolution step towards greater flexibility and scalability. Beside other new features, Logmanager is now available as a virtual appliance for VMware and Hyper-V.
Virtual appliance for VMware and Hyper-V
Embracing the latest advancements in technology, our virtual appliance revolutionizes the way organizations manage and monitor their logs with unparalleled flexibility and efficiency.
The new virtual log management appliance offers enhanced agility, enabling organizations to deploy and manage their infrastructure with unprecedented speed and simplicity. With just a few clicks, IT teams can spin up virtual instances, allocate resources dynamically, and scale up or down as needed, all without the hassle of procuring, configuring, and maintaining physical appliances.
This allows businesses to adapt to changing workloads and growing data volumes with ease. Furthermore, by eliminating the need for hardware purchases, maintenance contracts, and power consumption associated with physical appliances, organizations can reduce their total cost of ownership while maximizing their return on investment.
New Forwarder enhances large environments monitoring
Logmanager Forwarder is a standalone device that collects data from log sources in your LAN (Local Area Network), no matter its geographical location, and then forwards them to the master Logmanager server.
Forwarder enables efficient and secure log collection across entire infrastructure, even from remote branches. It is a standalone device that collects data from log sources in your LAN (Local Area Network), no matter its geographical location, and then forwards them to the master Logmanager server.
It plays an important role, especially for customers with heterogeneous and geographically distributed infrastructure.
Logmanager 3.11 enhances the central management of the Forwarder, including certificate updates. This allows customers to use this key component of our system even more conveniently and reliably.
We have also deployed a new process – once the new Logmanager release is out, a fresh version of the virtual Forwarder is available so our customers can always utilize the latest versions of our products. This applies to both VMware and Hyper-V platforms. This ensures that our customers can always utilize the latest and greatest versions of our products.
Higher performance and reliability for the VMware agent
The VMware component ensures log collection from VMware environments, including context that is not supported in the standard syslog output.
The new version of the component is a significant step forward, bringing better performance and reliability. Thanks to the new technology using GoLang, it puts less strain on the system and is more reliable. Additionally, Logmanager now fully supports VMware 8.
Please note that due to changes in the logging format, dashboards and alerts that utilize non-standard fields from the original component may stop working. We therefore recommend performing appropriate updates and tests.
More accessible documentation
We are constantly striving to improve our documentation to make it as accessible and understandable to users as possible. We have recently introduced an easily memorable URL address doc.logmanager.com/latest, which redirects users to the latest version of the documentation.
Other enhancements to the Logmanager solution
In addition, we have updated Logmanager with the following enhancements:
- New features for the Windows Agent for Windows environment monitoring,
- automated migration from the original WES agent,
- expanded workspace options for Blockly (see the image below),
- automatic SSL/TLS certificate synchronization for Forwarder,
- bug fixes to ensure smooth operation of our product.
We hope you find the new features and enhancements valuable and that they contribute to an even better experience with our product. Stay tuned for more updates and improvements in the future.
